Our highest level of outpatient care, designed for clients stepping down from detox or residential — or anyone needing structured daily support while living at home or in sober living.
Altura's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is full-day outpatient addiction treatment in Bellaire, Houston. Clients attend clinical programming five days per week while living at home or in sober living, making PHP a common next step after detox or residential treatment.
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the most intensive form of outpatient addiction treatment. At Altura Recovery in Bellaire, partial hospitalization program in Houston care means full-day clinical programming, five days a week, while you live at home or in sober living. It's the right fit when you need structure and support every day but don't require 24-hour medical supervision.
PHP sits between residential treatment (where you live at the facility) and intensive outpatient care (where you come a few times a week). For many people, it's the bridge that makes the difference: enough structure to interrupt the cycle of use, enough freedom to start practicing recovery in real life.
PHP Houston works well for people stepping down from medical detox or residential treatment, anyone facing acute cravings or instability, and clients managing both a substance use disorder and a mental health condition (dual diagnosis). It's also an option for people who would benefit from residential care but can't leave family or work obligations behind for a month at a time.
You'll thrive in PHP if you have a stable, sober place to sleep at night (home, family, or sober living), reliable transportation to our Bellaire office, and you're ready to do real work, not just check a box. If housing is a barrier, we can help you find sober living arrangements before you start.

Your day blends group therapy, individual counseling, psychiatric care, family sessions, and case management. Groups cover relapse prevention, coping skills, trauma-informed care, and the root causes of addiction. Individual sessions with your assigned LCDC focus on your specific goals — the things you don't want to talk about in a group. You'll meet with our psychiatric provider as needed for medication management, and your family will be invited into family sessions because we know recovery doesn't happen in isolation.
A typical day runs roughly five to six hours and includes breaks and lunch. Most clients stay in PHP for two to four weeks before stepping down to IOP, though length of stay is tailored to you and reviewed regularly with your treatment team.
