Short answer: what insurance does Altura Recovery accept?

Altura Recovery is in-network with Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan, Cigna, Curative, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for many commercial plans. Ambetter-contracted services include PHP, IOP, Structured Outpatient (SOP), and Virtual IOP. Altura works with major EAPs and verifies benefits at no cost. Altura does not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

Paying for addiction treatment is one of the biggest worries families face, and it shouldn't keep anyone from getting help. Altura Recovery is a drug rehab that takes insurance Houston families actually have — in-network with several major Texas insurers, which means lower out-of-pocket costs for you. Even if we're out-of-network with your plan, many PPO policies still reimburse a meaningful portion of outpatient treatment, and we offer transparent self-pay options. The fastest way to know your real cost is a free, no-obligation benefits check — we'll handle the paperwork and explain it in plain English.

Insurance & cost questions

How much does outpatient drug rehab cost with insurance in Houston?

With in-network PPO insurance, most clients pay only their copay, coinsurance, or deductible — often a fraction of self-pay rates. The exact number depends on your specific plan and where you are in your deductible year. We complete a free, no-obligation insurance verification, and tell you your real cost up front before you commit to anything. Call or text 713-766-1330 or use the form below.

Will my employer find out if I use my insurance for treatment?

Your treatment is protected under HIPAA and the additional federal substance use disorder confidentiality law, 42 CFR Part 2. Your insurance company knows you used your benefits — that's how a claim works — but employers cannot legally access your medical records. If your employer offers an EAP (ComPsych, Magellan, Lyra, Spring Health, Optum, LifeWorks), using it is also confidential. We'll walk you through what your specific plan does and doesn't share.

What if I don't have insurance?

We accept self-pay clients and offer transparent pricing for PHP, IOP, and Structured Outpatient (SOP). Many clients also qualify for partial financing or payment plans. Call 713-766-1330 to talk through options. If our program isn't the right financial fit, we'll do our best to refer you to a quality program that is — including non-profit and community-based options in the Houston area.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

No. Altura Recovery is in-network with commercial insurance plans (Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan, Cigna, Curative, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas) and most major EAPs. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. If you have one of those plans, call us and we'll point you toward Houston programs that do.

How long does insurance authorization take?

For in-network commercial PPO plans, verification of benefits is usually completed the same day — often within five minutes. Treatment can typically begin within one to three business days. Some plans require pre-authorization that adds 24–48 hours; our admissions team handles that paperwork for you.
