Outpatient care that fits your real life.

In-person and virtual evidence-based addiction treatment. Choose the level that matches where you are — and step up or step down as you progress.

Choosing the right level of addiction treatment can feel overwhelming, especially when you're already exhausted. At Altura Recovery in Houston, we make it simple. Every client starts with a confidential assessment, and from there we recommend the level of outpatient care that fits your situation — and adjust it as you progress. Our in-person and virtual programs share the same foundation: evidence-based therapy, psychiatric support for co-occurring conditions, family involvement, and a real aftercare plan. Below is how each program works and who it's built for.

PHP

Partial Hospitalization

5 days/week · 5–6 hours/day

Our highest level of outpatient care. Often the first step after detox or residential treatment — full clinical days while you live at home or in sober living.

IOP

Intensive Outpatient

3 days/week · 3 hours/session · AM or PM

Three sessions a week with morning and evening tracks so recovery fits around work, school, and family. Often a step-down from PHP.

Virtual IOP

Virtual Intensive Outpatient

Online across Texas · AM or PM

Clinician-led IOP by secure video for adults who need real treatment from home. Available statewide when clinically appropriate.

SOP

Structured Outpatient

1 group + 1 individual/week

The light-touch step-down after IOP. Enough accountability to stay on track, light enough to fit a full-time life.

Every program includes

  • Evidence-based therapy — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Psychiatric support — evaluation and medication management for co-occurring anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar, and other conditions (dual diagnosis).
  • Family programming — education and family sessions because addiction affects everyone who loves the person struggling.
  • Case management — practical support with employers, courts, FMLA, and resources outside the clinic.
  • Relapse prevention — concrete plans and skills you can use in real life, not just in the room.
  • Continuum of care — we coordinate detox and residential referrals when needed, and offer step-down through PHP → IOP or Virtual IOP → SOP → alumni.

Specialized tracks

Within every level of care we treat dual diagnosis — substance use plus co-occurring mental health conditions — as an integrated plan rather than two separate problems. Our psychiatric provider and clinical team coordinate care so your medication and therapy work together.
